The wonders of a wiry coat

When your owner decides to take you on a walk along an overgrown path beside the cliffs,

and down to a tranquil and rarely visited beauty spot,

and she is only wearing a pair of lightweight summer trousers, and to reach your destination you both have to battle through bracken and brambles and stinging nettles and prickly gorse bushes and thistles and more,

then your owner might just end up envying your dense and wiry wire-haired fox terrier furs!

Well, Nobby, there may also be a little envy of the advantage of spring found in four-paw drive! That looks like it was a preciptious as well as prickly trek... hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  2. fortunately you were there to find the way through this djungle... we hate the brambles they are pitfalls and you do a looping whenever they grab your foot...

  3. I agree with easyweimaraner - brambles are a hazard.

  5. now this is the kind of nature I love. The way God made it and unchanged by humans. Gail might need to make a wire haired suit for herself. you are well prepared.. the ferns towards the end are in our back yard, we assume brought by bird friends, they were not there and now they are. at my age I could not follow you but I would if I could

  6. Nobby I am 100% sure Gail (and You) were very happy she did not have to pick all thistles and trail debris out of your WFT furs. Now question is did her light weight pants survive?
    Love this post

  7. We hope the destination was worth it in the end for Gail.

  8. I bet you don't have the scrapes and scratches Gail must have gotten...but the view looks totally worth the work(and pain)!

  9. I think the word "might" in this context "might" be a misnomer :)

  10. Nobby, we hope you guided Gail carefully through all those hazards. Lucky for you that all those briars don't stick in your fur. The pointy things from our barberry shrubs always manage to stick us.

  11. Mu goodness Nobby, that' some prickly undergrowth you managed to find your way through!
Google has finally let us comment again, but we've managed to read your blog, so kept up to date with you!
    Love,

  12. It looks like you might have found a path under the growth rather than through it Nobby. That atmospheric photo looking down on the beach through 'murk' would make a good illustration for a tale of smugglers and piracy....
