First thing on Sunday, morning, Gail and I had a wee chat about how to spend the day.
I told her I wasn't too bothered about staying in for the Wimbledon Men's Singles Final, and I'd not noticed she was interested in tennis anyway.
I'm so pleased to report Gail came around to the idea that going for a lovely walk beside the River Dee with our friends M, J and K would be the best way to spend our Sunday.
I'm wondering what my dear blogging pals did yesterday?
That was a good way to spend the day. It was quite pleasant yesterday - dry, at least. No tennis watching here, and certainly not football. Tour de France is always worth watching. It's such a hard sport. The commentary alone is entertaining.

ReplyDeleteWell, Nobby, looks like you made the best of Sunday... I rather fear I had a day of catch-up viewing and listening, needing a sit down day after two days of shifting things around the Hutch (not exactly being productive, but feeling that I was doing SOMEthing...), so Sunday slipped by and now I must get back to shifting! I like the way that you and Gail chat, Nobby, and you decided on a great plan! Mom spent 2 hours cutting and raking grass in the 90 degree temps.
ReplyDeleteGail made a great choice for both Humans and Canine.. good girl Gail. ha ha. what's good for the dog is good for the lady. Beau slept while Daddy watched that tennis game all morning here, and Mama drew on the iPad. We did go watch the sun comes up at Bray Park, which is our Sunday morning every week.
ReplyDeletePerfect negotiation there Nobby - F went cycling around the Hampshire hills (second day in a row - sucker for punishment, but the South Downs are scenic at this time of year.)
ReplyDeleteGail says well done F! When she moved to Scotland (a quarter of a century ago) she was surprised to find that, on the whole, the Aberdeenshire hills are less steep than the North and South Downs. Cairn O'Mount and the Lecht excepted!
DeleteWe're glad to hear you and Gail had time to enjoy a hike with friends, Nobby. Our parents spent a lot of time watching the various sporting events live and recorded (to avoid commercials by fast forwarding through them). You completely forgot about the Scottish Open golf event that was won by a Scottsman.
ReplyDeleteNobby replies: I am relieved to report that Gail has even less interest in golf than in tennis!
DeleteNobby a Sunday Stroll with friends along the beautiful River Dee would suit us too. It is a lovely path. I did notice everyone is dressed like it is W I N T E R.
ReplyDeleteWhew would you share some of those cool temps with us.
It was 100 (real temp yesterday). So we spent our Sunday INDOORS.
Today many areas will feel like 110.
Just Crazy.
Bryan loves the TdF...however, it is only being shown on Paramont + which we subscribe too...so that is good. But they don't allowing subscribers to tape on DVD...so he does not like commercials. Any way he loves it.
Hugs Cecilia
PS Of course your photo was da BEST
Sounds like you made a wise choice! What a beautiful hike you enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteWe, on the other hand, were stuck inside ALL DAY because of the 100 degree(F) heat. Daddy took me out for a short walk after the some went down and the temperatures dipped into the 90s.
The pawrents spent much of the day preparing CeCe for our journey next week to, what they promise will be, cooler weather.

That was a great decision, Nobby, especially since you both enjoyed it so much. How we love that first photo of you and Gail.
ReplyDeleteWe spent the day inside hiding from the awful heat

It looks like you had just a lovely day with all sorts of good things to enjoy! We wish we were there, too hot for any type of outdoor fun here!
ReplyDeleteRosie and Redford
That is a proper way to spend a Sunday
