A Sunday walk with some favourite companions

Oh it's been ages since we met up with our dear friends M and J.

Far too long.

In between horrid weather, winter viruses and them swanning off to Munich to visit family, I've been missing my favourite walking companions. And not only 'cos M can be relied on to carry biscuits big enough to satisfy a labrador's appetite in her coat pocket...

We met on Sunday in Maryculter Community Woodland and made our way to the lookout point for elevenses. It was almost warm!

I helped M and J find a seat, but my offer of further assistance with organising the mid-morning refreshments did not seem to be appreciated.

After posing nicely, once the humans had finished their coffee I carefully checked that no scraps of food had been left behind.

On the way back to the car I jumped in some agreeably muddy puddles. Apparently this is the reason I was not then invited to join M, J and Gail for a post-walk lunch in a nearby restaurant.

Instead, this was my reward...

I hope my friends all enjoyed nice walks this weekend too. Perhaps without the foot bath bit.

  1. That looks like a splendid walk, and with special treats too. Nobby, you should have learned by now that muddy paws won't endear you to humans. Just remember next time you're in a similar situation - don't walk in the mud! Then perhaps they will take you to lunch.

Well done, Nobby, I would have been disappointed had you come home unmuddied! I must say that the weather has taken a turn for the better the past couple of days... Won't hold my breath though! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Beau is back to normal yesterday and today did enjoy his Sunday walkabout at the park, no mud here, we are still in drought. Great news you could get out and about with long time friends. that always makes me feel better

  4. Washing off the mud is essential, Nobby. You don't want to risk getting Alabama rot (there have been a couple of cases locally, recently) At least you can fit nicely in the kitchen sink!

  5. I m glad to hear (and see) that M and J are now hail and hearty. On balance, I would say muddy holes are better than a trip to a restaurant, at which I am certain no one serves food FROM the table....

    1. Fay, you make an excellent point regarding restaurant versus muddy puddles.

  6. What a nice walk for you with your friends, Nobby. My mom doesn't like the muddy paws either. It requires too much clean up on carpeting.

  7. I love seeing and reading about your walks with M&J....giggling about your scouting for dropped edibles. Toto the might mini dachshund learned quickly the best seat in the house was under Marlu's highchair.

  8. What a fine outing, Nobby and you have demonstrated to M and J how to pose nicely. You've even maintained your calm demeanor despite the indignity of being placed in the sink.

  11. Hi hi hi! Ojo here! What a beautiful place you went to! We're glad it was almost warm! Why the foot baths - why can't you keep the souvenirs from your outing?

  12. There is no bad weather that a good walk can't fix.

  14. That looks like it was a GREAT outing but we love the picture of you in the sink the best! Mom wishes she could do that to us, but we are a little larger than you--- thank goodness!
