The dawn explorer

In-between storms Isha and Jocelyn, Nobby successfully negotiates the narrow passageway under Aberdeen's King George VI Bridge, keeping his paws dry.

P.S. Gail shares her (middle) name with the second of these storms. She suspects there will never be a Storm Gail - that would be too confusing!

Well Nobby, I wonder if you can get under the bridge tomorrow if this rain persists!!! It's showing signs of brightening up here, though the wind is still fierce. Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  4. your very own bridge under the bridge, maybe a good title for a movie, its important to keep those feet dry to cut down on the mud Gail has to clean off of you. Ha ha on the storm named Gail. I think they should use it, the news could say the Gale, Gail is on the way to your area... i dislike my middle name so much i am listed as M for my middle intial on all legal papers. M is for my maiden name, McCall.

  5. Middle names - do you have one Nobby? F has a Spanish colleague who was surprised (and very amused) yesterday to discover that F has a second given name. According to her is is not usual in Spanish (although double-barrelled given names are not unusual) because their family names recite both Father and Mothers family names so it would be really unusual to find another person with the same given name and the same combination of family names. F doesn't think that a second given name is at all amusing, especially when it is a plain Jane sort of name allocated just so as to have two, and not a reflection of any other previous family member who ought to be honoured or remembered; A spare name it seems just in case one isn't enough for an identity.

  7. That sure is a lot of water you are dealing with, Nobby. We love the way the sunrise (or sunset) reflects in the water under the bridge in the second picture.

  8. Nobby well done proof positive how well balanced you are. The pink hue in the 2nd photo was very nice.
Please tell Gail I really like the name Jocelyn. My middle name is Lou it was my Mom's first name her middle name is Daniel. Daniel was a family name.
BOL BOL She was #7 of 7 children. There was only one boy. I suspect her Dad was hoping #7 would be a boy. She said the first day of every school year she was asked what her full first name was she replied just Lou...

    1. They could at least have used Danielle!
Jocelyn was the name of Gail's father's youngest sister, although it was a long time before Gail realised this as her aunt, for reasons lost in the mists of time, was always known in the family as Binnie.
