My offering today is a wee poem, suitable (I hope) for the LLB Gang's Nature Friday and for YAM-aunty's Final Friday Feature.
Climate Change in a Week
My heart's aglow,
When I see snow.
But as for slush,
Not so much.
Don't slip on ice,
Is good advice.
Ceaseless gales,
Bring more travails.
Now we have rain.
Oh not AGAIN!
What a bummer.
When is Summer?
PS As some of my readers know, yesterday was my 2nd birthday. I shall be posting about my not entirely satisfactory 'celebrations' later in the weekend...
good question... when will we have summer? we have only rain and it is muggy all the time...sigh...
ReplyDeleteNobby, that's a lovely poem and I feel for you, pining for summer. I suppose I shouldn't really mention that we have had some beautiful sunny days with temperatures up to 26ÂșC! Of course everyone is saying it's all very well, but we could do with rain! Some people are never satisfied are they?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Paca xx
Lovely Poem Nobby. F went to a poetry evening last night at her cycle group (actually a celebration of Burns night) - most of the poetry was written for the event and yours would have made a perfect addition to the creativity on display.
ReplyDeleteNobby replies: at least F went to a more or less appropriate 25th January event. Can you believe that Gail celebrated Burns Night (and, not unimportantly my 2nd birthday) by going to see a live screening of the National Theatre production of a play called 'Dear England'?! I'll be saying more about this in due course...
DeleteLove your poem, Nobby, and Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteGlobal warming is really creating a huge mess this winter season. We don't have winter and we are normally one of the coldest and snowiest places in the country. Very sad. Happy Birthday, especially from Nelson who turned two last week.
ReplyDeleteyour poem is lovely and sad and pawfect for both nature and FFF Friday.. I hope all of you who want summer get it, but down here i am hoping ours goes away. yesterday went 40 degrees up overnight and it was so hot last night i almost turned on the AC.. this is our wonderful winter that i love, but not this year, we are on a pendulum swinging from colder then hotter, both not our normal winter.
ReplyDeleteGlobal Weirding
STANDING OVATION Nobby that was all kinds of splendid for Nature and FFF.
ReplyDeleteWOW. Aberdeen is sounding a bit like Raleigh. We (except no snow) but we had Arctic Blast last week. Feels like temps in single digits and the wind they call Mariah was howling. I think someone stole Mother Nature's favorite candy. She was quite unhappy.
Looking forward to your 2nd bday post
Hugs Cecilia
Happy Birthday, Nobby. We love your poem and feel your pain. All our beautiful snow has melted and our yard is a muddy mess.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Nobby ~ hope you had a fun day ~ Always great to see the sweet photos of you ~ fun poem too ~ I am ready for Spring!
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

ReplyDeleteWell, Nobby, bravo! I say... Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
At least your grass and all the "goodies" it was covering will be available. BOL
ReplyDeleteWe are sending any snow we get your way!
xoxo,
Sunny
That is a cute ditty about the ever changeable weather! Same here!! Snow by the truckload, then ice, and now rain by the buckets!
ReplyDeleteSorry about being AWOL here, so long...I enjoyed reading all the previous missed posts though! Your wintry pictures were lovley!
Great poem, Nobby. I feel there is more to pour out of you - a slim volume of Nobby's Necessities would be most welcome.
ReplyDeleteWe do love the snow, Nobby. The slush not so much. But the warmer temps have returned to OP and our snow is gone. Now we have mud, and that doesn't please the Momster very much.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to. you.
