Nobby's poetic response to Scotland's recent wet weather

IF (THE NOBBY VERSION)

If I were a frog,
And not a soggy dog,
I wouldn't mind the rain.

If I were a lobster
And not Sir Nobby Nobster
I'd really not complain.

If I were a walrus
And not remotely porous,
I'd frolic in the ocean.

And if I were a sealion
And not a whip-smart canine
I'd always choose a soaking.

If I were a puffin,
For whom a flood means nothin',
I'd not be agitated

But I am a fox terrier,
And frankly I am merrier,
When my land's not inundated.

  2. Oh Nobby what happened to the preference for muddy ditches? Or have you matured out of that pastime? Bit cold perhaps?

    1. Gail replies: muddy ditches seem to be a Summer only thing with Nobby. Thank goodness!

  7. wild clapping for your poem and for your balancing act on the sofa. sorry baby that you are missing all you fun walks due to weather. I saw the Weims had zero power and almost froze and starved. hope the storms go away and give you an outdoor break.

  8. Sir Nobby Nobster bravo bravo bravo all the Great Scottish poets are surely proud of you. It must be soggy if you (who normally traipses right thru puddles) walked around it

  10. Nobby and Joey sat on a log
Both thinking the other might be a frog
    So when Nobby said Ribbit
    Joey too said Ribbit
And together they jumped into a beckoning warm bog

  11. Truer words were never said...especially not so poetically!
Although the mud does look very inviting!

  12. Misty and Lightning are with you on this one, Nobby. They do not like the rain at all. But not Timber, he doesn't mind being out in it at all - silly boy.

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  14. We love that poem, but not the wetness that inspired it, BOL!! Hope you had nicer weather, and disappearing ponds that were not in good places.
