We lucked out!

Could it be nicer weather for us to enjoy a few days walking in the Scottish Borders with our friend Janet?

It could not, and here's the proof from yesterday.
Looking south from St Abbs Head

St Abbs Head lighthouse

Cliffs eastwards from St Abbs head - folded Devonian sandstones

Disappointingly, I do not have a picture of Gail swimming in the North Sea at Coldingham Bay, a pretty sandy beach just near where we walked.

Hmmm. The NORTH Sea? At COLDingham Bay?

She said it was splendid but I have my doubts...

Well, Nobby, I am impressed with those views, right enough, pawtikularly the ones with you in them. We did actually get above 20'C here by the Hutch yesterday, which was most welcome, I have to say. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  7. Hello, Gail (and Greetings, Nobby), Yes (in answer to your query), I do find myself reading, and re-reading sections, but I think you might agree, as you are half-way through, that the book is consistently compelling. I also confess to pausing and (re)reading something shorter and of a different ilk, most recently John Buchan’s The Thirty Nine Steps 😊. And, hmm, a dip in the North Sea.....here, I might agree with Nobby!

  8. Gail might be kin to Beau's Dad, he loves to swim in cold water and in fact takes cold showers. I am a wimp and prefer warm water and really hot water for showers. those folded hills are almost as magnificent as the canine watching them

  9. What a beautiful place for a walk. We bet that swim was a bit on the cold side but also very refreshing for Gail.

  10. Nobby what breathtaking views from your walk.
Our temps this week have been M- 96,Tu-98 and 100 with feels like in the triple digits.
If I a lovely place like that to swim I'd tempted to take a plunge too.

  12. I admire your weather. We are having an intense heat wave. I feel bad for the kids who are in school.

  13. What a gorgeous day and beautiful skies!!! We would love to have seen that swimming shot:). We finally have some very nice temps, but air quality is very poor with the smoke floating down from all the fires in Canada.
