It's totally not my fault.
So Gail takes me on a walk in the woods on a hot for Scotland (27ºC!) afternoon.
She ignores me, focussing instead on the pretty summer flowers.
Germander Speedwell |
Twinflower |
Mouse-ear Hawkweed |
I would like to have cooled off in a nice clear stream, but all I can find is a muddy ditch.
You would, I think, have done the same.
PS from Gail: I had hoped Nobby's ditch crawling exploits were a thing of the past, but the recent warm weather seems to have prompted an unwanted revival of this behaviour...
Oh Nobby! The flowers are very pretty, but I'm not sure I could say the same about your usually handsome self - was there the dreaded bath once you were home?
ReplyDeleteIt rained heavily here yesterday in the late afternoon and most of the evening so I wonder if I can find a muddy ditch to wallow in? Carol is always on about my having new experiences, but I'm not sure if she meant that sort!
Love,
Amber xx

ReplyDeleteWell.............Nobby..............🥴 I am glad Gail had those flowers as compensation for the outing! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx (from an uncommonly bright and sunny Dunoon where temps are topping off at 28 and 29 degrees!)
you are the canine version of that cat in boots... a hero ... our hero!
ReplyDeleteOh, Nobby, you do make me smile. Was the ditch pleasantly scented, too?
ReplyDeleteOh no. I suspect a bath will be in order for you, Today, Nobby.
ReplyDeleteyou look good even with mudboots on. your afternoon heat is what we had when I took beau out at 3:30 am 28c and going to 35 by mid day with a feels like 10 degrees hotter. the reason we have AC. when it stays at 28 as a low all night, summer heat wave is here to stay until November
ReplyDeleteYou sure look like you had a fun time in the mud, Nobby. We hope you had as much fun in the bath you most certainly got when you got home. BOL!
ReplyDeleteWell Nobby please thank GAIL for sharing the beautiful blooms.
ReplyDeleteMaybe one has to be a hot dog to understand the need wallow in mud when hot. However, it appears to me the caked mud would hold in the heat. That being said, you have country DNA so maybe it is just a country boy thing.
Virtual hugs from a far

You don't happen to have any DNA in common with a riverhorse do you? They seem to like mud (and live in hot places). Perhaps you should go in for one of those bog snorkelling events - that would be right up your alley.
ReplyDeleteWe puppy princesses have yet to discover a muddy ditch. It sounds like fun! Maybe today if it stops raining we'll look for one in the back yard. Oh, and your flowers are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteTeeHeeHee..You do look adorable in grey, Nobby!

Nobbies always demand full attention
ReplyDeleteAhhh, a mud puddle to cool off in. You were a lot hotter than we were on Wednesday. It was only about 21. Next week we could be at 30 or more...ugh!
ReplyDeleteI bet the bath tub was in use when you got home...or diid you get the garden hose treatment. Sometimes MJF got that...
Hahahaha, that will teach Gail the perils of ignoring you on the walk!
ReplyDeleteNobby, I loved seeing the photos of your walk through the woods, and the different flowers. When I was a child, I was given the 1969 book "Adventures in the Little Wood" which I loved, and still have! I dreamed of visiting a country 12,000 miles away, seeing all the animals and plants, but there was never a creature that looked like you in the last photo. Thank you for showing me your adventures with Gail near where you live.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, a mud bath! That is very good for your fur!
