An incident on the beach

So Gail and I took a Monday afternoon stroll from home down to the harbour.

When we reached the little rocky beach just inside the harbour wall I surveyed the general scene.

I went for a wee paddle.

Then I spotted something interesting going on just a few yards away.

Guess what happened next?

Hint:

Terrier with a high degree of curiosity + terrier who loves digging = Naughty Nobby???

Gail says: Fortunately all three kids found it highly amusing when Nobby, ignoring my calls, bolted across to them and clambered all over the poor lad being buried while kicking sand in his face...

PS We are driving down to England today, for a ten day visit to various friends and relatives. It will be Nobby's first time away (apart from going to Torridon) and a big test of his social skills... While in England, Nobby will be attending a Very Special Event, and on the way back we will be visiting a Very Special Blog Pal. Watch this space!

  1. Sand is just great for digging in isn't it Nobby? Gets stuck in your toe fur a bit but small inconvenience. It's even better when humans are about digging too. The best beaches have underfloor heating (geo thermal I'm told) which makes them great for sprawling on even in cold weather. Paw smacks Mr T

Well, Nobby, that looked to be proper beach weather at least. I am glad you enjoyed your visit and the company of youngsters of the two leg variety - although, pawhaps, the ignoring of recall was not quite so good... I am wondering if Gail may have to put a tick chart on the sidebar so we can properly track your nice/naughty balance sheet!!! Safe travels, you two... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  6. Nobby of course you had to help/demonstrate the most efficient way to dig.
Bless your little terrier heart. Gail Nobby keeps you on your toes~

Happy safe road trip and hugs to all you see we know. BOL

  10. Hi young friend, what a great digger you are! I don't know what your Gail is fussed about, it sounds like the young humans were perfectly pleased with your assistance!

  11. Nobby, what great fun you had helping those boys bury their friend in the sand - I'm sure you really helped them!
More new experiences for you and a visit to another country. Luckily for you Gail speaks the language so there should be no problems. Hope you've got your passport ready - there can be some tricky moments at border crossings!!!
Have a fabulous time and don't forget to write.
    Love,
    Inca xx

  12. Nobby's escapade is reminiscent of Cardigan Charlie's, when Charlie and my husband were driving cross-country. They stopped for an evening in Galina, Ohio, where they took a walk, crested a hill, and saw the girls' junior high school soccer team practicing, down below. Charlie *loved* soccer above all else, and he took off running, joined the game, and "ran" the ball, with his nose. The girls and even the coach were delighted—happily for our travelers!

  14. Nobby, I suspect you saw this as a "Nobby to the rescue" mission when you spotted the youngster being buried in the sand. What a great opportunity to work on your lifesaving skills! I hope Gail was suitably impressed with your keen eye and quick response.
