Socialisation programme going great guns

Well it's a good thing that Gail has me around to tidy up the kitchen floor (see Friday's post) as we've had a series of visitors over the past few days, all eager to make my acquaintance.

According to a rather intimidating chart* Gail was given when she took me to the vet for my first set of vaccinations last week (I was a Good Boy, by the way), I am supposed to develop my social skills by meeting the following types of people over the next few weeks.

I asked Gail to tick the relevant boxes for those whom I've now met, but she says some of her friends might read this blog and get upset about how they were classified.  (Middle aged? Elderly?)

One of the friends took these pictures of Gail and me. I totally wasn't showing off. I am Nice Nobby, always!

Oh and I'm told my readers will know whom to blame for the bags under Gail's eyes...

*Gail says: this chart actually has thirteen categories of experiences Nobby is supposed to encounter as part of his 'Weekly Socialisation Programme', of which 'meetings with people' is just one. (Although, given that this is 2022, I find it a serious omission that the chart neglects to list 'developing a social media presence'!)

  2. You look a wee bit bigger than when we visited a while ago! And yes, you have a clearly noble stance, Nobby!

You are getting a great education:)

  3. That's a long list Nobby! Do you get marks out of ten?
My human says she didn't have anything like that when she had any of her puppies. She just winged it, and they all turned out to be lovely dogs! I think you'll be a very good boy even without that list.

    Love,
    Inca xx

    1. Inca, I am relieved to say that Gail is not taking this list too seriously. Oh and by the way, what's with the future tense? I am ALREADY a Good Boy!

  6. I am so happy to hear what a good boy you ARE not will be. how is that, does it make you feel better? I can tell you that good or bad you are already in my heart. I want to hold you just like Gail is holding you, like the sweet baby you are.. that list would be almost impossible for us to find all those people. Hope Gail can find one of each

Well, Nobby, with a list like that you will not be short of things to look forward to... if only the list included eccetric old ether-aunties... or, indeed (having read a comment elsewhere), helicopters!!! I also hope that, slowly, you are learning the difference between night and day and what bedtime actually means? (Mind you, this EOEA is a bit bleary-eyed herself, being surprisingly lagged by the lost hour this weekend!!!) Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  9. You are such a cutie, Nobby. It's so thoughtful of you to keep the floor clean of your toys for Gail. We can't wait to hear more about your adventures as you get to meet all those different people.

  12. Do you get to meet cats and other dogs? And sheep and seagulls and stuff like that? You are a terrier right? So I guess some small critturs just aren't meant to be socialized with. You made my humans go all gooey. Tiny paw smacks, Mr T

  15. It's very nice to meet you, Nobby. It looks like you share Chester's interest in squeaky toys. Except, he usually removes the squeaker and all the stuffing before putting them in his squeaky toy storage facility. If you have any questions about squeaky toy management, please don't hesitate to ask!
