I expect you're wondering how things are going, now that I've been in my new home a full seven days.
So while Gail has been trying to interest me in spending quiet evenings watching University Challenge...
... my distinct preference is for early morning mayhem in the garden...
Tuesday morning, Nobby firing on all cylinders at 5:45 a.m. |
Oh, and here are some more things I like:
- My crate
- Dragging things into my crate (including my unused night time puppy pads)
- A tidy kitchen floor
- Attention
- More attention - tummy tickles and ear rubs especially appreciated
- Cuddles on Gail's lap
- Basking in sun puddles. Yes, the sun does actually show its face on occasion, here in NE Scotland...
- Playing tug of war with my lead. And anything else my sharp little puppy teeth can grab
- Violent tussles with Sophie Snow Leopard
- Pretending I want to pee or poo so I can go out into the garden again
- Using my puppy teeth to crunch leaves and twigs. Or moss. Or Gail's hand.
- Meeting new friends - so long as they pay me lots of attention, of course
And a few that I don't:
Well Nobby, that's quite a list of likes you have, though we have sympathy for poor Sophie Snow Leopard! We hope you're not too violent.
ReplyDeleteWe bet you get lots of attention and fuss - you're such a handsome little pup.
I see Gail is pointing you in the right direction if you're watching University Challenge already. Personally, I fall asleep cuddled next to my human when she watches that!
Love,
Inca xx
University Challenge? I watch the Pakistani Wedding dancing that Yam-Aunty posted on her blog (fascinating). You sound very busy, and a seriously early riser, but you'll get over it right? I encourage you to like the dog flap, if they work like cat flaps they are useful for bringing your prey indoors. small paw smacks Mr T
ReplyDeleteYou are quite an early bird, Nobby! Your lists of likes and dislikes have us smiling☺

ReplyDeleteWell, Nobby, I am suspecting you are reminding Gail that having a puppy around (any youngster for that matter) can be quite the challenge (and no university in sight)!!! If your get over your dislike of the flap, you will discover that you can enter the garden pretty much any time you wish, saving Gail a little energy. And I think all mothers learn that the kids will not all like the same food, though with human pups, the threat of room detention is likely to be more effective than with the likes of yourself! As for the crunching teeth... you may want to tone that down a tad before long. Humans tend to get a bit tetchy around that sort of thing! Maybe try and listen a bit more to relaxing music (yeah, yeah, I know... wimps...) Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Nobby if Angel Madi were here she would give you a standing ovation for your romp in the garden at 5:45 am. She would tell you Nobby you must train the humans early and often...because they are in constant need of refresher courses. And she would agree about helicopters.
ReplyDeleteThis all being said, I can 100% tell Gail is in awe of your and 100% in puppy love, as shown by her words. Keep you the good work before long Gail will realize you are top Dog.
Hugs Cecilia
Such a well behaved little, ahem, Monster (especially final photo)! I am happy to hear that your likes far outnumber your dislikes. So much to learn!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your first week of posts and look forward to more tattle tales by Gail of the challenges a puppy gives to humans... We had one puppy in the house, from the day of his birth and he chewed one each of 5 of my favorite shoes, ate a hole in the bathroom door, ate a 20 dollar bill, all in his first few months.. I think we were not responsible parents back in 1986 and had no internet to learn from... you are beyond cute and adorable and i so wish I could cuddle you, minus of course the sharp teeth thing... already love you little guy
ReplyDeleteYou sure seem to be enjoying yourself, Nobby. At least you have a longer "like" list than your "dislike" list. We can't wait to hear about more things you discover.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are on point Nobby! We think, as time goes by, your "like" list will get longer and longer!

Nobby, sounds like yer off to a fine start as a terrierist of da first order!! Anytimes Gail starts to whinin' just remind her she could have two terrierist pups at da same time-- like our house did when both Kinley and me came here to live. And as fur da sharp teeth, well, let's just say the oak windowsills in da kitchen will nevfur be da same after we finished "anteekin" dem!! Now, as to da kibbles... I wreck-o-mends trainin' Gail right early... it took me years to get my Momma where she cooks my meals and kibble is only added as filler (which I usually leave behind unless I are starvin"). Train 'em early, Nobby, so dey stays trained?? bol, bol
ReplyDeleteIt's been a very long time since we've had a puppy in the house. (Over 13 years!) My ghostwriter is asking herself if she wants to go through all that again????? But you make it sound irresistible!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a fantastic job in you first week. A puppy who loved his crate is a rare and precious thing. We are proud of you.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great for just one week! But I know you learned from the best long before you came to live with Gail!
ReplyDelete:)
I loved my crate too as a puppy - and still does. Terrierists luv our dens!
ReplyDeleteHi Nobby, that is a great list of things to love. Why do people assume because another dog liked a food, we will? Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteHi Nobby and Gail, I've just worked out how to follow Nobby's blog (my attempts didn't work before) using my late-Riely's blog, so have read all his posts including Nature Friday. Look forward to following his blog and adventures as it is so long since we have had a puppy in our house!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very good list that we think will grow longer every week!
