On top of the world

What a relief! After being 'confined to barracks' all Sunday while Storm Kathleen continued to rage, the winds finally abated somewhat on Sunday night.

Even better, our nice Torridon neighbours invited Gail and me to join them on a hillwalking expedition the next day.

Here I am on the Beinn Alligin ridge. You just can't beat that 'top of the world' feeling.

Oh and yes, it was still a wee bit breezy on the summit.

In fact, the humans deemed it too 'breezy' to continue along the ridge and do the full circuit, so we stopped at the first peak, Tom na Gruagaich, and went down again.

It's a steep ascent/descent and I did notice Gail walking a bit funny the following morning. But don't worry, I was fine!

Well Nobby, glad to hear you are none the worse for the trekking. Pawhaps you could offer Gail some leg massage? Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  3. I do hope Gail only exercised some muscles unaccustomed to descent and didn't do herself any injury. As for you Nobby - can you actually growl out any of those Gaelic place names? Those peaks behind you in the last shot look like you could be somewhere out in a Saudi desert!

    1. Gail says: rest assured, it is, as you guessed, just some temporary soreness in the muscles (quads) used on steep descents.

  10. Wow! You are take some great walks, but this one was spectacular! Looks like it was a very challenging hike, so your Gail has ever right to be a bit sore! You have 4 legs, but she has only 2!
