So Gail drove me across to Torridon yesterday afternoon, and it turned out there were some new arrivals roaming around in the fields surrounding the cottage.
We went for a closer look (through the Nobby-proof fence of course).
And you know what Gail said?
"Those lambs are only ten days old Nobby. Don't worry, they'll soon stop looking cuter than you".
CUTER THAN ME!!!
I think Gail failed to notice that at least one of the wee lambs had a dirty bottom...
Well anyway, I'd soon had enough of those supposedly cute baby sheep.
Now Gail, let me into the cottage please, and light the fire, it's still chilly here at latitude 57.5ºN.
Well Nobby, baby lambs are very cute. Just remember that you too, were a very cute pup! Now you're all grown up and mature and a handsome adult.

ReplyDeleteWell, Nobby, you may have some cuteness competition for a short while, but what Gail says is true - the period is brief and your cuteness is not!
It is distinctly chilly (and grey) just this wee degree south of you, too. Silly weather. Thank you and Gail for my very special b'day card!!! It is the only van I have at the moment - am still in the Hutch longing for word from the dealer that we are set to go... am suspecting it will be Friday before collecting now... earliest. Sigh. ReplyDeleteIt's just that baby animals bring out the 'Ooh' in humans, but they really wouldn't want them in the house, particularly with dirty bottoms.
The lambs are cute but not as cute as you are, Nobby! Enjoy your nice warm fire.

ReplyDeletefor some reason humans always think babies are cute, even human babies, all babies are cute. the good news is, you will be cute the rest of your life. Beau says no one says he is cute because of his size. we are thinking he must have been cute as a baby though. these little lambs are really really cute.
