Magnolia malcontent

So you would think, in a week when I did Gail a VERY BIG FAVOUR* during a walk one afternoon, that my dear owner would have been prepared to spend lots of time helping me put together a particularly magnificent Nature Friday post.

But no, instead she prioritised going on a long and hilly bike ride with her friends on Thursday.

After which I was hastily taken around the park, shoved in front of a magnolia bush and told to "pose nicely" beside the pretty blooms.

I was pretty reluctant to cooperate.

I doubt very much that my friends will want to see Gail and her friends riding their bicycles around the Aberdeenshire countryside and picnicking beside the Dee in glorious Spring sunshine. I suppose the fact that Gail offered me these pictures to pad out the post is tantamount to an admission that the magnolia theme is in itself a bit thin.

Oh and I want you to know that I did in the end pose nicely.

Happy Nature Friday friends!

*Readers will have to wait another week for YAM-aunty's Final Friday Feature slot to find out more about this particular adventure.

  1. That's a lovely photo of you, Nobby. You must remember that some dogs never know what their owners are up to when they go out, but you have photos to prove that Gail and her friends were out for a bike ride! That looks a lovely spot for a picnic.
    Love,
    Carol xx

  4. What a beautiful day for a bike ride but you steal the show in front of the beautiful magnolia blossoms, Nobby!

  5. We are all very envious of the magnificent weather that nature is providing at your end of the country. My humans are going bike riding tomorrow and Sunday - which is a bit of a mistake that came about through a cancelled ride last week. Your magnolia is beautiful Nobby, and so are you. A force of nature.

    1. It's such a rare event, that the North of Scotland weather is envied by the rest of the UK. We're making the most of it!

Am grateful for the sun today, Nobby, dear, as we are in Edinburgh to 'send off' Neighbour M... That magnolia is lovely, as are the picnic photos. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  8. You always do cooperate in the END. in the other pics you look like Beau, turning the head away from the camera. glad to see the beautiful weather that allows both of you to share with each other the bright sunshine outings.

  9. Nobby you would think Gail could remember the house rulez when living with a WFT...prior approval is always needed....and if not rec'd then there will be no good posing. I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery and photos of Gail's bike ride. Now I have to WAIT a week for 'the rest of the story'!!

  13. We would like to know why Gail doesn't have a side car or the like so you can go on those biking adventures. Being left at home should result in less cooperation for picture taking. Lee and Phod who hate being left at home.

    1. Gail replies: On Thursday on my lightest bike I was barely clinging on. Our route, devised by Muriel who is training for a bicycle tour in July which goes over a +5400 m high pass in Ladakh, comprised a 68 mile ride taking in just about every steep hill within a 25 mile radius of Aberdeen. My knees are still in recovery. I would not have fancied my chances with the extra weight of Nobby in a trailer! (He was taken out for a nice walk by neighbour Kirsty as didn't seem bothered at all by my long absence.)
