Torridon! Dry weather! Signs of Spring!

So it's March and we are in Torridon and IT IS NOT RAINING!

Let's have a look at the what's going on hereabouts. (N.B. The white building on the far right of the picture below is our cottage.)

Ooh look! Daffodils in bloom by the loch shore.

The sheep are looking fat. Gail says their bellies are full of lamb. Yum!

The trees are not yet in leaf, although the catkins on the hazel have peaked.

You can always rely on moss and ferns to provide additional greenery.

Back at the cottage, the sun has put in an appearance and I have spotted a splash of colour in the garden.

Pretty spring primroses - one of Gail's favourite flowers.

Well that's about it for today. Happy Nature Friday! (Can you spot my nose?)

Thanks once again to our LLB Gang friends for hosting this, our favourite blog hop. Do go and visit the other posts.

  2. Thank you Nobby - your walk brought us much pleasure. Lovely to see so many signs of spring, and the sheep looking very well groomed and cared for. You'll be able to show us some photos of the baby lamb soon. Torridon is definitely the place to be!

  3. Nobby - in your first photo and the one of the sheep there are some bumps traversing your loch. Are there fish farms out there? You certainly have plenty of nature to choose from for your nature hop this week. Funnily we have primroses in those two colours on our kitchen windowsill (but I'm not allowed that close to them). Enjoy your fresh air and open space. paw smacks Mr T

    1. Gail replies: Yes it is a fish (salmon) farm - a source of much local controversy regarding noise and chemical pollution, but also of course one of the few local providers of year round employment.

  5. It looks like beautiful weather to be out exploring. We will be buried in snow for a while yet, but it makes us happy. Hope there are little lambs running around with those sheep soon.
