Faces of Spring in Scotland...

In the Nobby household we believe in natural beauty treatments.

After a week of snow-based facials I'm now back to to the usual mud pack...

Happy Nature Friday to all my friends!

P.S. I think you should know that Gail and I had a bit of a falling out this week. It was her fault (of course). After the heavy snow on Monday night she abandoned me on both Tuesday and Wednesday morning and met up with friends to go cross country skiing on a local golf course. The weather was glorious - blue skies, sunshine, no wind - but she claimed the snow would be too deep for my little legs to manage. So on Thursday morning, when the snow had melted a bit, I was invited to join her cycling group for a nice walk (the roads being too icy for the usual bike ride) and I took my revenge by stealing both the homemade muffins she'd brought along as a snack. I am pleased to report that courgette, halloumi and olive muffins are totally delicious and sustaining fare for a 7-8 mile romp around Scolty Hill and the adjacent Blackhall Forest. But gosh, Gail does get a bit grumpy when she's hungry...

  1. My goodness Nobby, I suppose it was a case of all or nothing. The muffins sound delicious so to be honest, I'm rather on your side here. Still I'd recommend restraint should temptation present itself again; you really do want to stay on Gail's good side.

  2. Oh Nobby - you bad lad. But who could resist the temptation of such scrumptious fare! That will teach Gail to think twice before she leaves you at home alone and goes off skiing. You could have a snowboard and go along with her!
    Love,
    Indy xx

  3. I can't blame you for giving into temptation - those muffins sound delectable. So Gail gets hangry, does she? I know people like that, too.

  4. Years ago F met a woman on skis in the snow clad mountains behind a wintery Bergen. She had a k9 about your size on a rope tied to her belt and young k9 was tearing along the ski paths. Not sure we share your enthusiasm for a snow face pack Nobby, but those muffins do indeed sound wonderful and we are not surprised you ate them if they were left where you could get your choppers around them.

  5. just like Tigger, I am wondering about the ease of access to those muffins. this means you might be right of whos fault the whole thing is. You look super great with snow or mud on your face.. now I am pondering if here in Florida, I could use ice cubes from the fridge and rub them on my furs to look as good as you do. Mama could use a lot of ice on her face tooooo the photos show it was a perfect day.. super idea to ski on the golf course

  8. We love taking snow baths. It's good for the fur. You were very cheeky to steal Gail's muffins, but we think it's just, since she left you at home those previous days. Didn't any of Gails friends share any tidbits from their snacks with her so she didn't have to starve?

    1. Nobby replies: In fact I spotted Gail's friend Imogen giving her a generous slice of yummy-looking home baked apple cake, so she has absolutely nothing to complain about, does she!

  11. We have been buried in snow just this afternoon. And we thought spring was arriving soon! Hahaha! The puppies Baby and Rosie are having a ball, though. Stay warm, Nobby!

  12. We got hit with a big dump of new snow...third storm in as many weeks...blah...Bt even Dalton was running through it to chase some creature in the woodsy part of or yard. And the snow was over his belly...he did that kind of hopping running thing, but the camera was not available...as petcretary was helping to clear out the sidewalks and driveway.

You nabbed the muffins?? OMD!!! Score for you!! BOL!

  13. Guess what Nobby? Our pretty blooms are enduring sleet and snow this morning. But only sticking to grass, cars and decking.

  14. Dear Nobby, Good job at claiming the muffins for your own. That will teach Gail to not always invite you along. Lee and Phod
