A challenge...

Apparently I've been signed up for dog agility training next spring.

I think I'm going to be rather good at agility. See me tackle this obstacle, which forms part of a cross country circuit for horses on the Dunecht Estate.

Maybe I'm already too advanced for the dog stuff?

Although Black Beauty here didn't look so impressed when I challenged him to a jump off.

Fear of being outclassed perhaps?

Well, Nobby... I am inclined to think he might be a she (though one can get into hot water being too difinitive these days), and would perhaps have preferred an offer of drafting a carriage? That aside, I am well impressed with the promise you show in this wee vid clip! Keep up the good work, lad. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. Nobby you are quick and nibble. And OMDs you have very long legs like a fine jumping horse. Very much explains why the black beauty might be a wee bit jealous. Also may I say well done on the immediate sit after you cleared that high wall. I predict you will be a star in the agility class.

  6. You sure look ready for agility, Nobby. That horse seems more interested in his hay than challenging you to a jump off. BOL!

  7. We can foresee blue ribbons in your future. Love the vid although it was so quick I almost missed it and had to watch it twice haha. You did that beautifully and what a beautiful horse but not as Nimble as you

  8. We can tell you are going to be the top of your class Nobby. Lee did well in agility, her handler not so much. It was an embarrassment so was grateful when we moved away. Lee and Phod who continue to demand rest in the house.

  10. Oscar's friend Fred (working cocker) does agility classes with his owner Charlene. They spend a lot of time jumping and going through tunnels and over see-saws- and quite a lot of time waiting around for judges but that's another story. You go for it Nobby.

    1. Gail replies: Bertie did agility for several years, and I always found the training sessions very rewarding but the competitions less so, because of all the waiting around involved. We'll see how Nobby gets on - his tendency to be distracted by other dogs will, I suspect, prove a problem!
