When Gail takes me for walks over in Torridon, she prefers that I keep to the straight and narrow.
It seems she gets alarmed when I clamber on a wall with a drop the other side.
She doesn't understand that I just want to check out the marine life for my Nature Friday post.
And you won't believe how cross Gail gets when I jump into a ditch in search of frogs.
Look, here's proof of the interesting things one finds if one ventures off the beaten track.
Happy Nature Friday, and thanks once again to the LLB Gang for hosting this, our favourite blog hop. Don't forget to go and visit all the other posts.
oh boy... nobby ... you look amazing... this boots are made for walking, right?

ReplyDeleteWell, Nobby - I'm all for adventure - but now is there a need to call in the forensics team??!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Gail says: A red deer metatarsal or metacarpal I think.
DeleteYou look like you are having such fun, Nobby, but my mom would be happy if I had all of that mud on me either!
ReplyDeleteNobby, your refusal to listen to Gail has brought unexpected benefits - your very first bone in what may be, over the years, an interesting collection.
ReplyDeleteMy human wasn't too impressed with your muddy legs, but then she gets annoyed if I get my paws muddy walking through a tiny puddle!
Love,
Inca xx
You are lucky you can be off leash. We always have to be on leash. Love your new look too after getting into some mud.
ReplyDeleteNaughty but always Nice Nobby
ReplyDeleteI am 100% sure the straight and narrow is BORING. the road less taken offers the most adventure for a young WFT. However, dear boy I hope you don't mind a bath because for certain *frog gigging is a slimy sport. (*that is a southern out of doors sport). I will google it and be right back with an addendum to this comment
Hugs Cecilia
I am back...I decided to just give you the link. Gail might think you are too young and innocent to read it

Gail says: so pleased I now know about frog gigging!
Deleteyour off the beaten path photo looks a lot like you encountered a tar pit not mud. hope it was easy to spray off and that you have a hose outside. I would FREAK out if you climbed on that wall. Is there a plan in case you jump or fall off and go way down below? to retrieve you?
ReplyDeleteGail says: The plan is to carefully assess whether or not I could clamber down to rescue Nobby, and if not he's back on the lead!
DeleteYou sure love a good adventure, Nobby. What a treasure you found while getting so muddy. We bet there was a bath for you when you got home.
ReplyDeleteNobbyyyyyy!!! Yuuuuuck. That muck really shows off your puppy legs. Was it smelly? What is it about smelly that appeals to k9s? All that said - adventures are only adventures if experienced first hand. No one every had an adventure reading about it....
ReplyDeleteWOW....that is one awesome bone you found Nobby!
ReplyDeleteRosy is very interested in hearing if you found any frogs...and also mentioned when it comes to frog hunting a bit of mud is totally acceptable!
xoxo,
Sunny
Sadly no frogs this time Rosy. One lives in hope. But thanks for the support on the mud issue!
DeleteLooks like you had a fun time, especially seeing the amount of mud you've got on you!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the interesting find you have there, Nobby. We just hope you didn't regret your ditch diving when you got home and had to face the evil B.A.T.H.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Excellent! I would go over the edge too! Also I like your camouflage - hurray for MUD!!!
ReplyDeleteYou got a little mud on your legs there.

ReplyDeleteOh Nobby, what wonderful muddy legs you have! A belated THANK YOU for recently identifying the wildflower scarlet pimpernel, so prevalent in our garden and so long wished to know its name.
Nobby, remind your Mom that mud is useful for the complexion...and that it is good as a fly repellent, too....just saying!
ReplyDeleteWow, that sure was a good sized bone you found...um...um...were you allowed to keep it to use as a teether??
You have clearly mastered the art of guard dogging. Excellent job. We could tell you were going to be a quick study! If you can figure out why people don't appreciate a little dirt in the name of adventure, please let us know. This is still a mystery to us! Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteWow, is that a bone you found? You do have the most wonderful walks with Gail!
