So the week began with sunshine and a walk around Hazlehead golf course with John and Françoise.
And with Gail asking if we should enter this photo in a 'rear of the year' contest.
Midweek there was a pretty sunset in the skies above our street.
In Duthie Park the mahonia is just now coming into flower.
So far so predictable.
But who could have anticipated a Thursday morning invasion by a stack of cardboard tortoises from La Bretagne....?
What??!
PS from Gail: thank you so much to Phenny, Nelly, Katty and Mark for sending us this delightful 3D card. Rest assured it was rescued from Nobby's paws before any damage was done...
Happy Nature Friday all!
Hari Om
ReplyDeleteWell Nobby, you and Gail sure are getting quite the collection of greetings - ain't Blogville (and friends and neighbours) just wonderfurs?!! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
Pee-ess... Your tushie could definitely compete for treats! Y-a xxx
Deletewow even tortoises can be fast LOL. we agree fridays are for golf... fortunately dogs and even wimmen are alowed there now... hehe
ReplyDeleteRear of the Year could definitely be yours, Nobby.
ReplyDeleteI noticed just yesterday that our mahonia is flowering.
Nobby the sunset is magnificent and I do love that mahonia. I tried making jam from the berries on ours one year (someone told me it has a common name 'Oregon Grapes.) The jam was unimpressive. No, I lie, it had one impressively outstanding property - it ability to make lasting stains. The wood of the plant is also impressively yellow. Big hugs to Gail.
ReplyDeleteGail recalls seeing a lot of 'Oregon grapes' in their native habitat in the forest of Washington State last Christmas.
DeleteThe mahonia is beautiful and the tortoise card is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWe think you have the perfect rear for rear of the year. The card with the tortoises is adorable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card, it's so unusual. I'm sure your rear would do well in any contest, Nobby!
ReplyDeleteWe hope that Gail is feeling much better.
Love,
Paca xx
Nobby here: Sadly, Gail is having to come to terms with the fact that she is not going to get better, but is trying to keep going as best she can, helped by all her lovely friends far and wide.
DeleteGail, I've come back to say I am so sad to read the words "not going to get better." I wish I could offer some practical help. Please know that I send my love and keep you in my prayers.
DeleteThanks. Gail xx
DeleteWe are so sorry to read that Gail is not going to get any better. We send our love to you both .

ReplyDeleteYou and Gail are truly blessed with so many friends to rally around when needed. hugs and love to both of you
It's interesting that Nobby spends a lot of time observing the new card, before his snout investigates. Very cool card!
ReplyDeleteHey John and Nobby looks like you two fellas had a dandy walk for this Nature Friday.
ReplyDeleteNobby, as you know I am a huge x 87 fan of you from the tip of your nose to the tip of your WFT tail. ABSOLUTELLY IT WINS REAR OF THE YEAR IN MY BOOK.

You sure found some beautiful nature on your walks, Nobby. That is the cutest card we've ever seen and you have the best looking rear around.
ReplyDeleteSuch delightful walks you're having, Nobby. The mahonia is splendid and such a clever tortoise card. Hands down (probably not the right metaphor) you would win the rear of the year contest!
ReplyDeleteYou do have such lovely walks---and all the friends helping is the best! You ---and Gail---are so lucky to have such support! Is it chilly there? Here it is SO hot that it is making us huskies and our Mom very unhappy. But your picture of your butt made our mom smile!
ReplyDeleteRosie and Redford
We don't know which picture we like better...the gorgeous sunrise, or that cute little WFT Rear!!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Rosy and Sunny
No contest needed, Nobby - you have already won with the cutest tush ever!!! That sunrise is so spectacular. Nice photo catch.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Misty and Timber
Nobby you are the rear leader. It is kind of your guests to take pictures of you so your mom can see you on your walk.
ReplyDeleteHi hi hi! Ojo here! I would have shredded that thing! Did you go Terrier on it, friend?
