Some readers might remember the old (19th Century) fox terrier oil painting on the wall of Gail's not-very-tidy study.
I wonder if anyone else saw one of the photos from Monday's post and noticed a similarity in the composition?
And on the theme of comparisons, Gail had the cheek to ask me if my foxie friends from Sunday really are the same breed as those stuck up types who strut their stuff around the show ring at Crufts...
wow, that is a true reenactment of the framed photo and I much prefer the mud dog pics over the groomed and proud pics
ReplyDeleteI have heard that show dogs don't have nearly the same fun that you do, Nobby!

ReplyDeleteWell, Nobby, I think the painting and you are of the same line, without question. As for the Cruftonians... hmmmmmmmm.... maybe many baths and fur strips in a session would bring you closer. But would you really want that??? Hugs and wags, (from Hawick Aire) YAM-aunty xxx
I love that painting - it captures terriers perfectly.
ReplyDeleteNobby, you are a proper dog, not a fancy model, bred only for show.
You and your friends look just like that painting, Nobby. As for the fancy show dogs, they don't have as much fun as you because they can't afford to get their bright white hair too dirty.
ReplyDeleteGail suspects that chalk powder is involved in the 'bright white' effect...
DeleteI prefer muddy terriers having fun to pristine show dogs. Easy for me to say as I'm not the one de-mudding the dog back at home.
ReplyDeleteVery nice comparison Nobby..and no way those tidy, groomed, white as cotton could have anywhere near comparison to you in fun and Living loving in Scotland

I see another appearance of your friend Merin with the sticky uppy ears. Those Crufts types are probably just stuffed toys Nobby - they don't look a bit like a real WFT. That last photo of your and friends should replace the picture on Gail's study wall.
ReplyDeleteNobby, you're a natural WFT, not some "just out of the groomers" WFT! Those show ones don't look real!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Paca xx
I think you are a much more evolved WFT Nobby...more rugged and handsome for sure!

Wow, did Gail set that shot up for comparison??? What a great duplicate! We are fascinated by the differences in the shape of the three terrier faces.

That is crazy---that comparison! Wow! And you all look like you are having so much more fun than those poor groomed pups---bet they wish they were you!
