Three Days

A Weekend in the Life of Nobby

Friday saw sun and all cares cast aside,
To Glen Tanar we ventured, and roamed far and wide,
Through soft birches and pines in the valley below,
Then high on on the hill into heather we go!

The next day, a comedown, the rugby was on,
While Gail watched the telly I paced round the room.
I worked hard at obstructing her view of the screen,
But was pushed aside rudely, which I thought was mean.

On Sunday, we walked with our friends M and J,
On Stonehaven beach, then the steep coastal trail
To the World War Memorial. A place to reflect,
On how peace is so fragile a thing to protect.

  2. A nice summary of your weekend, Nobby. You should be pleased with Scotland's result in the rugby - nail-biting stuff.
    Peace would be wonderful.

Well, Nobby, you repawted your weekend marvellously - indeed, poetically!!! I have to say, the rugby was something of a highlight of my weekend... and events in the world are showing an ever more concerning trend, so your Sunday reflection is shared. Hooroo frae a Hutch being battered as per what has become usual... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  8. You had a marvellous weekend and some good walks too, and how clever you are with your poems! You really are a naughty boy to try to stop Gail watching the Rugby, she does take you on some splendid walks, so you shouldn't begrudge her viewing time!
