On Saturday afternoon Gail decided we'd try out a new walk.
I just love exploring different places. Don't you?
We started in the village of Lumphanan and the track ascended gently northwards through pretty woodland and up to a look-out point. Apparently on a clear day one can sit on this bench and enjoy a magnificent view of the Aberdeenshire hills.
This was not a clear day. In fact it was raining increasingly hard. And the seat didn't look at all comfortable anyway, so we hastened on down along some muddy farm tracks and back to the car.
To be honest, I ended up grateful Gail had not planned a longer walk and I was quite happy to be home and curled up on the sofa, practicing my Perfect Circle pose.
we hope the summer comes back to us... and then this bench is a super place to enjoy a wonderful day...
ReplyDeleteWe love perfect circle pose - in Tigger we called it Round Cat. (F)
ReplyDeleteThe bench is most interesting but looks desperately uncomfortable. Your practice is making perfect, Nobby.
ReplyDeleteNo, not a good day to be out and about Nobby, though we do envy you your rain. We've already had our walk for the day, it's now 28ÂșC, so we'll stay in the shade until tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteYou make a perfect circle Nobby - how do you do that? I like to lie on my tummy with my back legs out behind me, just to make the most of the cool tiles!
Love,
Paca xx

ReplyDeleteWell, Nobby, that did indeed look dreich - but enough promise there to encourage a re-run on a better day? Meanwhile, the doga is going well... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
be careful Nobby, when you are in your perfect circle someone might think you are a fluffy cushion and sit on you. sorry about the rain cutting short your wander in a new place. that bench does look like it is not meant for sitting. It looks like angel wings on a heart so am thinking it might be a memorial to someone.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty bench but not the best day for a new walk.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the weather didn't cooperate for your walk. You do look very comfy all curled up for your nap.
ReplyDeleteNobby,
ReplyDeleteI know how much you enjoy your treks so that must have been hard rain and a messy trail. OMDs you have perfected that perfect circle. Your WFT tail was the only hint at where your circle began and ended.
Hugs Cecilia
I guess we all have some rainy days. Might as well take a comfy nap.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a good circle pose, Nobby!

When you are curled up I can't tell where you start of end
ReplyDeleteNo, for sure, that bench does not look very comfy for humans or furries. We all enjoy a good walk, but the return home with muddy paws is never fun.
