My Big Bro

It's very annoying, isn't it, when your big brother is allowed to do things but you are deemed too young.

So Gail took me along to the start of the monthly 'Aberdeen'n'shire Foxie Walk' on Sunday morning.

Can you believe there were eleven of us wire fox terriers - a whole football team's worth - assembled in the Robert Gordon University car park. Including several relatives.

Closest of all the relatives was my big brother Rupert, a year senior to me - same breeder (Alex), same parents (Vikki and Jimbob).
Nobby and Big Bro Rupert

After the obligatory intros and much cooing over my adorableness, the pack set off on a walk through the campus and down to the river.

I was getting along swimmingly with my foxie pals, and so was most perplexed when, after about ten minutes, Gail pulled me up short, saying "OK Nobby, that's quite enough excitement this morning for one so young. We need to go back to the car".

Let me tell you, I DID NOT NEED TO GO BACK TO THE CAR!

I mean, I was learning so much from Big Bro Rupert. Like how he had once accompanied his human to the office and chewed right through the line manager's internet cable....

And Rupert was allowed to continue on the walk, but not me.  It's all so TOTALLY UNFAIR.

Well, Nobby, colour me shocked. There was me thinking Gail would have been every bit as keen as yourself to be roasting those pathways and burning off the energy. Yours as much as hers. I trust there will be much longer walkies ahead of you. SOON!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Well Nobby, it won't be too long before you'll be the same size as Rupert, and forging the way at the head of the pack! You have to build up your stamina first.
Then you'll have lots of interesting photos to show us and tales to tell us.

    Love,
    Inca xx

  4. What a fun meet-up for you, Nobby, but I think you should have been able to go on that walk with everybuddy else! Next time for sure.

  5. Have you worked out what an internet cable is so that you can practice living up to big bro's reputation? Use you time wisely Nobby. When not out walking find other learning experiences. Paw smacks Mr T

    1. Apparently there is an 'office' in our house, but the few times I have snuck in there I have been promptly and unceremoniously removed and have not, yet, had time to work out which is the best cable to chew. (I plan to try them all in due course..)
      Toodle-oo!

  6. Well, Nobby, if you chew through Gail's internet cable, we won't be able to come along on your adventures....I suggest you begin with socks, preferably not handmade ones.....

  7. Oh Nobby what an excellent gathering of WFT as far as the eye can see.
AND so much smell mail. I bet all 11 sniffers were dog tired.
Rupert is a most handsome big brother. But for sure you don't need to be
learning 'behavior' from him. Chewing on cords/cables is not a good idea.

Our mighty mini Dachshund Toto did just that when he was about 6 months old. One Sunday we were having supper he was stationed under the table waiting for his 4 year old sister Marlu to drop something. All of a sudden Marlu said Mommy Toto is chewing on the lamp cord. About the time I jumped up he yelped.
I screamed and Marlu screamed. Bryan said call the vet he quickly went to Toto and was rubbing his chest. About the time I got the Vet on the phone Toto stood up walked over to his food and water station. Vet said to watch him if he was eating and drink all is well. Bryan's massage of his chest was kinda like CPR I guess. Toto was missing 2 lower back teeth but that was it.
He was a Dachshund with 9 lives of a cat.

  8. what fun to see so many of you in one spot. Rupert is like a preview of what you will be in a years time. butt we KNOW you will be even more handsome than he is. We adopt seniors but the only dog we had as a puppy that chewed, was 6 months old when he chewed the heels off of ONE EACH of my dress heels. 5 pair ruined. he also chewed a hole in the bathroom door. do not try either of those Nice Nobby

  9. That sure looked like a fun outing. It's so unfair of Gail to cut it short though. We're sure when you get a bit older you will have lots more fun with all your pals.

  10. What??? Gail cut short your walk? Maybe it was because your little puppy legs are still pretty short...when you are all grown up you can go further, right?

  13. I think your mom must have gotten tired and needed to go home. She can't keep up with you.

  14. Mmm: we thinks the whole bunch was "naughty" but Nobby was "nice". Of course with all those "almost look-a-likes" there, we can't quite be sure which is Nobby and which is Not Nobby, but we knows you are nice ... so ...
